When wife steps in on your correcting son maybe you should try something new.
Maybe you should let W know that you understand she might have a different Op on the how to correct S but that you would appreciate that she talk to you about it out of S's presence so that you can come up with something you both agree on. You would be validating her feelings but working toward your goal too.
