Dropped in to check up on Kat, then thought I'd leave an update.

W and I and the baby are great. Can't believe she is almost 1! SD10 and D0 just adore each other. No hints of the bomb remain.

The big deal is that D16 is living with us now. She was living with her mom (my XW, prior M) in NYC but over the summer, her mom tried to commit suicide. She has had a long history of emotional problems. I had no idea she was doing badly, but apparently this was her third attempt this year. Long story short, I get a call and race down in the middle of the night to get D16, bring her back to Maine, and now she is staying here for senior year.

You can imagine this has all been pretty difficult for D16, but she is handling it well. Has been seeing a therapist and doing ok with the adjustment. Difficulty with family blending has been an issue for us in the past, but everyone seems to be getting along. I, of course, am thrilled to have her back home. It feels like everything has come full circle.

Good to hear from you.

That is rough about your XW and the emotional effect it has on D16. I do remember you saying that SD10 and D16 did not get along all that well. Hopefully, with the baby, there is a new dynamic that helps with the blending.

I am sorry to hear that your oldest had to deal with all of that! Glad that she seems to be adjusting and talking it out with therapy. I love all those pics of your newest addition...she is an angel. smile

Thanks for checking in, I really appreciate it.
