In the old days, when I had a date and I was afraid I might go further than prudent, I would wear really ugly, torn, stained, underwear. That usually kept me from getting naked.
I used the not shaving/waxing method. And it worked!

That's interesting you mention that, I've heard someone mention this in another forum (something similar anyways), is that something WAW's do (I'm a man so I have to ask what a women's point of view is on this) when they leave their husbands and prepare to have affairs - they start to do more maintenance down there?

huh.. that's funny, I thought she meant her legs.
Guess that goes to show same words different perspective.
My maintanence 'down there' decreased after I left my StBX.. but I wasn't preparing to have an affair either.

Taking the road less traveled because those encountered on the way may be just as unique.
Pearlharbor did NOT leave her BF - Dudess DID NOT leave her husband, Mindfull DID NOT leave her husband.
So, why are you asking here about "down there"?
the discussion made me curious, see pearl's post at the top of the page. She mentioned that she didn't maintain herself which kept her from doing things she might have done if she was "maintained" - love that word and it's connotation in this subject LOL!

AAK said she might not trust herself on her date since she's a little hot and bothered these days. Dudess chimed in that in past (single) days she wore old knickers to prevent herself from getting undressed. I added (also meaning single days) that I wouldn't shave/wax to prevent myself from getting undressed.
I cannot speak to the habits of WAWs since I am not nor have I been one.
But yes, if I don't maintain 'down there' and/or shave my legs it does keep me on the straight and narrow.
IMHO a woman who formerly did not spend much time or energy on maintenance suddenly starts waxing, it's most likely for a man: either her H or OM. I actually did try something different right before BF dropped the bomb because I was trying to shake things up for us. The fact that he didn't mention it and then said he didn't care when I brought it up should have been a sign to me (he was already involved in EA by then).
Apologies to Dudess for TMI.

Today H emailed me that he had arrived at his friend's house in France. Told me what they had been doing.
Don't understand why H is doing this. I don't think it is just practical because he didn't give me a phone number where he could be reached for something urgent.
I didn't reply to his last email and I don't see any reason to reply to this one. Anyone see it differently?
- nope don't reply, he will email again when he doesn't see a reply, and then he will email again and then he will phone.
Create a vacuum, make space between you & him (and not the geograhical distance type space), if he's emailing you, he will expect a response, I guarantee it and you won't give it to him. It will make him curious, going dark isn't easy but no contact tends to make people very curious.

It took 2 weeks for H to email again. The cycle continues where when I don't respond to his emails, his next one is very formal and brief, rather than a chatty report about his wonderful vacation.
This time he writes:
Quote:
Dear Dudess,
how are you?
Where are you?
Did you [take care of home maintenance issue]?
How 's it going with [joint financial matter]?
i'm still [at friends' house] It is starting to get cold here.
It took 2 weeks for H to email again.... Any thoughts about how to respond?
Yes, take your time.
I'm thinking... the skunk deserves at least a week break before he gets his answer.
If I remember correctly... you said you were going away in October.. right? Perfect timing to be out of touch, so when you reply add, "Just got this now. Was out of town and out of touch last week. Here are the answers to your questions:"
BTW, have you gotten all your ducks in a row and moved out yet?
