Thanks! I think it would be a great job right now! I had my interview and it went pretty well. Turns out the principal and I have friends in common (some of my theatre friends) and we got along well. After a little bit, 5 minutes or so, she asked the vice principal to sit in on the interview also. I liked both of them very much.
It's a teaching assistant job with special needs kids (several in wheelchairs) and the job today was for 16-22 year olds. Heavy lifting. They have swimming every day and teacher aides go in the water too! Which sounds like fun to me! I did ok on the interview questions, but a couple were hard. Just couldn't think of a good answer, I need to work on that. But both principals were helping me out, basically almost giving me answers. Both very nice people. I did ok on most of them, but didn't do well I think with the when you work with people with differing styles how do you handle that? I said I'm pretty good at working with people and understanding that people have different styles in dealing with things. If I had a problem (b/c they asked me that too) I said I would probably talk to them about it. The one I answered the best was the what's your weakness question? I answered it truthfully; I like variety, and wouldn't do as well in a job that I did the same thing over and over each day. They said that the job there would be tons of variety, so that would be a good quality for the job. I know my answer might not be good for some jobs; but I prob. wouldn't be happy in those anyway.
I wore my lucky purple dress, the receptionist said it was cute.
The principals were saying that competition for the job was stiff so I might not get it (I know they have about 200 applicants for these jobs, and probably at least a dozen really well-qualified teachers competing with interviews. And high school isn't really my area. They said if I don't get this job, they encouraged me to apply to future openings, and they have some upcoming Pre-K openings. They said they would remember me from the interview, etc. So it sounded like a good possibility for a chance of a job in the future. So I'm happy about that.
The second I get home, X is on the phone. Since it is MY night, S15 will be staying at my place, and you can't pick him up or something like that; I didn't say anything just hung up--he knows I've asked him a dozen times not to call prob. does it to piss me off and get a reaction (which he hasn't been getting from my emails b/c I've been ignoring them).
I normally like to take S15 to the food bank to volunteer (at his request) Tues. afternoon. Should I attempt to email him and remind him of that and that S15 would miss that if I don't pick him up, or should I do nothing? My L said to let her know if he tries to interfere with the Tues. activities, so I would like to have an email where he says that in print to forward to her. Prob. that's why he called instead!
