My mom reminded me that when I was in 4th grade, she got called in for a conference with my teacher. Apparently, little Puppy was taking it upon himself -- whenever the teacher would teach the class a grammar rule in English -- to point out THE EXCEPTION(S) TO THE RULE.

God, I must have been an annoying little smartazz, LOL.

Seriously Greek, or are you being facetious?

And speaking of "facetious," although a 'c' preceding an 'e' is usually a soft, "ess" sound, there are some words that---

oh, nevermind! smirk

Funny how all of us reforming know-it-alls tend to club together here.....

I LOVE english teachers! although I was probably one of those intolerable children, too.

Thinker, I'm wishing you and the Mrs. the very best for this weekend. As the doc says, be willing to tolerate pain for growth.

Seriously, Puppy! I was one of those kids myself. On my second grade report card, in the space where teachers write glowing little reviews so the parents can swell with pride, my teacher wrote, "Your daughter is a nuisance." She told them that I was a "know it all" and disruptive. Good thing I grew out of that (don't say it, Coach!)

Cheers ~~~
