And so the day begins...

  • We all woke up late
  • The cat got hit by a skunk overnight and came in and stunk up the house
  • S5 and S7 fought through breakfast
  • S1 overflowed the upstairs toilet into the downstairs of the house...
  • ...and then played in it
  • ...and then switched off Mrs. Thinkers PC while she was working
  • ...and now refuses to nap, and is screaming in bed while I try to hold a conference call in the room next door.

...some days are just like that.

And Mrs. Thinker and I have dealt with it. No fights or anger.

Working through a list of everything we have to do before we can go away for the weekend.

Ok, I for one find that little factoid *really* impressive.

Ayup. Me, too.

It's funny how days can go like that. For me, it was this:

* Vendor in CT called me at 9 am HIS time. (I'm in CA)
* Had to be on a conf call at 8 am with info from said vendor in CT.
* Kidlet woke up sick on a day when I have to be out from 10 - 2
* H said he'd come home from work to take care of kidlet and would be here by 10.
* Our CEO who is on a business trip left the visuals for her presentation in her hotel room. The bookkeeper who has the only copy of these materials has her internet down so she can't send them.
* Bookkeeper called me @9:15 saying to get to her house NOW NOW NOW to pick up CD, burn materials to my computer and email CEO.

ETC.

The trouble with having an open mind is that people put things in it.

Someone needs to teach CEO to email her presentation to herself whenever she has a presentation to make. This has saved many a conference presenter in the past.

Keeping busy with work and preps for being away for the weekend.

W making her own preps - menu's and food stock-ups so the babysitters won't have to shop, etc. She's a bit stressed about it.

This evening she announced that she was going to call the Retrovaille team and ask if she could leave on Saturday evening to help with the handoff between babysitters.

My response: "uhh, no". We talked about it a bit. Outwardly she is worried about the complex handovers between the sitters, but she may also nervously be looking for an escape route.

Otherwise all is calm and "normal"

2 days to Retro...

I have a few nagging concerns myself, but otherwise feeling strong and calm. Thanks for the mojo. wink

Going out for an evening walk to get out of the house and give her some space.

Now I have "L.A. Woman" playing in my head.

Just hang in there. Only a couple of days to Retro.

I can understand your W`s stress about leaving the kids. And I`d say its just that-stressing bout t.he kids, not looking for a way out of Retro.

Love the Doors! Take Me Through to the Other Side!
