Divorced and want her back

OK, so had a baby step today. My daughter asked me to watch her son. I said yes to give the XW a break; daughter drops him on her every night while she goes off to party. That was one of the big splits me and the XW had; she enabled my daughter and I refused to but now I realize can't change my daughter so I'll help XW out when she needs a break. XW called to get some info for her resume; she's applying for a job in town (she currently lives about 60 miles away) and if she gets it she'll be closer. Anyway she called and actually talked, asked me how things were, etc. for about ten minutes. I count that as a big success that she felt like just talking and I kept it all in safe territory, didn't even rag on my daughter. Not much but it is progress and gives me that much more strength to stick to this deal.
