It's a movie, not like you were going to interact much with W anyway. You could tell her that you have something to do right afterward and drive seperately. Go to a bar and watch a football game. I did that the weekend my W started moving things into her apartment. I got all dressed up went to a bar watched a football game and talked to the bartender all night. If you tell them your W just left you, you may just get a few free shots of whiskey (I got a few).
