Thank you for your vote of confidence! He does confide in me and asks my opinion on how to handle his very dysfunctional substance abuser sister now that his father has passed away. (last week he passed at age 93). I think that shows he respects me to some degree. I need to show him he can trust me...what would show an ExH besides just being there and supporting him that he indeed can trust me again or is that about all I can do? We really only see each other at pick up/drop offs, and occassional soccer games.
