You know, relieved is the wrong word, I actually feel empowered that I took the initiative to get the paperwork in order (doing the dirty work for her I know, but covering my a$$ in the process) and got the ball rolling.

Good. Empowered is good. That's how I felt when I kicked BF out of the house. Taking back control of your life and living it on your terms.

I had the same internal conflict: at first not wanting to do anything to help end the R but then getting fed up and wanting to make the decision and get things moving. I think that's pretty normal.

Not quite there yet, but getting oh so close!

BTW...I ordered a couple of books from Amazon today..."Hold Onto Your Nuts" & "Too Nice For Your Own Good".

On another topic, did you happen to watch "Flash Forward" last night? If not, there's an encore performance tonight...set your DVR.

Argh, no, I missed Flash Forward. Thanks for the heads up, I did mean to at least try it. Ok, DVR is set.

Still need to watch Grey's Anatomy. We watched The Office and Community (that's going to be cut). Too many shows!

I haven't read those books but I think the guys here really like them. You'll have to let me know what you think. I've been thinking about reading them myself just to get a different perspective. I've been looking at BF lately wondering if I think he's too much of a nice guy or just enough. I do know that I find myself wishing he'd be stronger and more alpha male, especially when it comes to sex.

I know, we women are a mess of contradictions.

Ain't that the truth!

Be careful with the alpha male/sex topic...slippery slope.

Yeah, I know. I broached it last night and wasn't sure where it was going to go. I think it went ok. Here's the thing, I think most women want an assertive man who knows what he wants but is not going to be a bully to get it.

I had a similar feeling when I had to explain to BF that it upset me that he never gets jealous of the attention other men give me. Makes me feel like he doesn't care and if that's the case, maybe I should find a man who wants me badly enough and doesn't ever want to share me. BF was concerned with me thinking he was controlling or possessive. It's a fine line but there's definitely a difference.

You can win. Isn't it similar to men wanting a strong independent woman who still is feminine and needs her man to take care of her in some way?

I suppose, but men are such simpler creatures...just give us a beer and something naked to look at and we're pretty happy wink (I stole that line from Jeff Foxworthy)!!!

If only it were that simple...this board would be filled with men only and the women would just flash their WAH and problems solved! wink smirk
