That would be a good idea. My W "separated" with me, starting claiming we weren't married. I documented all of it.

I paid off about $30,000 in debt the three years we were separated, but still married - I'm not going to pay any alimony, I have my kids 60% of the time, and the child support is less than half what W expected to get. She is a bit beside herself at this point, and just can't understand why the courts aren't taking "her side", and giving her lots of money.

Three years ago, she expected to walk off with $30k in equity in our house, until I told her that the down payment we made was equity from our previous house which I owned free and clear. Oops, shave off $9,000. Then the house got re-appraised for $40k less than she thought. Oops, shave off another $20k. smile

Perhaps it is a bit vindictive, but I love it when reality bites.

Thanks for checking in JF.

Yep grin! Went through all this same stuff with my first W. It's just frustrating because we talked about this 3 months ago. It isn't rocket science...the real estate market's in the toilet everywhere. If the house was worth what it was when we got married I'd put the "For Sale" sign out today.

Whatever...I'll make the changes to the paperwork, put it in the mail and enjoy my weekend!

Good plan! You're just doing what's fair so no worries.

Yep, watched House last night. A lot of the movement shots at the beginning were making me sick but otherwise loved it. I saw the guy who played Alvi on Broadway a couple years ago, he is fantastic. I just wonder if they're going to replace his Vicodin addiction with things going wrong with his anti-depressants. Will be interesting to see how long the kinder gentler House lasts.

It was a good episode, but I missed his interaction with Wilson & Cuddy. If I ever needed a Dr. he'd be the one. Hard to believe he's the same actor from "Stuart Little".

Thanks for the thumbs up on my plan. I'll keep you posted!

I was surprised and happy to see Wilson stand up to him. I missed a lot of the second half of last season (with all this separation and single life drama going on IRL). Who was the other colleague who died? I thought it was a reference to Amber but BF thought it might have been a reference to 13.

Time for me to get off my lazy butt and exercise. Have you given any thought to that makeover I suggested? Ask JonF, he'll vouch for the fact that some new duds can do a person good. He's gotten in great shape and his W definitely noticed.

Time for a little tough love from Wilson. 13 didn't die, but Cutter killed himself and House struggled with it because he couldn't find an explanation for it...there has to be a logical reason for everything with House. The actor playing Cutter (Kal Penn) left the show to take a job at the White House...I'm not making it up.

As far as a makeover, the local park district has a workout facility close to the house. Yearly membership is less than $300 so that's a possibility. At my age having 6-pack abs is probably not going to happen, but toning up might be a good idea.

I knew about Kal Penn, I follow him on Twitter (Harold and Kumar is one of my fave movies). Ok, so the reference to the second colleague dying must have been Amber.

Yes you *can* have a six pack! I have been a lifelong couch potato. Always slenderish due to good genes and good luck but it was really starting to catch up to me. When the bomb hit I started walking four miles a day religiously just to destress. Then I started tap classes in January (great for the calves). I started an outdoor conditioning class in May and now have the outline of a four pack, the last two are hiding under my layer of bad eating habits. So it can be done!

Plus exercising is important to keep you healthy in a stressful time. And if it's a 180 for you (like me), even better.

And on a completely unrelated topic, the Windy City is hosting BaconFest in April. I really want to go and think I can talk BF into it. I am a bacon fiend, he used to live there and is a Cubs fan so it makes perfect sense. Just FYI in case you love bacon too.

Working out would definitely be a 180 for me. I was so busy running a household I seldom made time for anything like that...plus I was lazy.

I don't know which is funnier...that there is actually something called BaconFest or that you'd come all the way to Chicago for it!
I'll make a note of it on my calendar.

Well, any excuse to go to Chicago is a good one. And I love love love bacon. And if it happens to fall on a Cubs home weekend then all the better. I sooooo love Chicago, it's in the top 5 places I want to live. I just don't know if I could handle the weather.

I hear you on the lazy part. I still haven't made it outside for my walk yet. Now it's raining and I'm perfectly content to sit on the sofa with some hot cocoa and enjoy the greyness of the day. I will go to tap tonight so at least I'll have one hour of physical of activity.

Put it on top of your list of things to do. Make your health and well being a priority.
