Just wanted to let you know that I had a slipup similar to yours yesterday.
For years, every time I left a voicemail for my W, I finished it with "I love you" it really became just a habitual thing to say.
Yesterday, I was leaving her a voice mail re something logistical (scheduling a babysitter, I think), and ar the end of the message, just before I hung up, it slipped out - first time in 9 months that I said "I love you".
Oops. Old habits die hard!
No damage done.

@Thinker - I don't feel so bad I slipped up. And, just like your's, no harm done here either.
@EB - My W slipped up earlier in the summer and called me "Babe." And, yes, I think they (and we) have to be in a mindset of letting their guard down (even if subconsciously) for that to slip out.
Hey GIMA - checking in on your flood situation. Is it bad where you are. We have been spared so far down this direction but you know how the storms like to roll across our area. I'm sure by the end of the week we'll be seeing some pretty heavy damage.

Good here. Not far from some flooding - Chastain Park - the golf course has a hole or two underwater.
Pretty good day. REALLY busy day. But good. Won a ruling in a case - client thiks I'm the greatest L in the world. Which, of course, I am. Ha!
Had a dinner for work to go to. Lots of exposure to some great business contacts. So, just got home.
W seems happy to talk to me. Telling me all about the day. First time I've seen her today since I left the house at 5:45 to prep for my hearing. Thought she was mad at me (didn't say it mattered to me) since she had not sent me any messages today. That, and the fact that although I told W last night (and before) that I had the dinner thing tonight, she forgot. But, she does not seem upset at all. If anything, she seems mildly excited.
W goes to the beach this weekend with a GF and our D. So, S and I will be having a guys weekend. Maybe go camping if the weather is clear. Really looking forward to it.
Really not much to add tonight. But, life is good.
