You don't get a do-over once you're out. So there may not be much you can do there.
You can and IMO should set up a regular visitation schedule that you and she work out.
Things may come up some, but even with teenagers (I have D17 and D14) they adhere to the rules. H and I speak once a week about the kids and any thing that they have plans for, I get his approval also. My D's know this. have I ever slipped? Not when it would impact his visit. If it were to, I would have his approval in advance and we would re-arrange (hasn't happened yet).
