I will be in Maui for 4 days and I have no plans of telling him either (or should I?)...

- I don't see any reason to tell him. Unless he is taking care of your boy, then he should probably know where you are.

My neighbor did this to prove she could enjoy herself all by herself. She went to Mexico for a week and said it was great. You will have no problem keeping yourself busy for 2 days in Maui. It will go by faster than you think. Enjoy it
