My STBXH pulled that same stuff, back and forth, back and forth. Loving the single life, not wanting to be "tied down" but too lazy/unsure/whatever to go through with the D.
Do what you need to do for yourself. If you were single, would you buy? Then get the legal sep and go for it!
If he wants back later, you can figure it out. It's a perfect time to buy and it's always nice to have something of your own.
