Today I registered for membership in two educational leadership organizations. I also updated my resume with the memberships and my schooling, with an expected graduation date. I'm thinking ahead and will keep my local Board of Cooperative Educational Services informed on my progress.
I also applied for a job as a waitress at a restaurant near my house. I went in and explained about my schooling and that it would take me 2+ years to finish. They were impressed with my experience, since I worked banquets in high school and through college. I also told them about being on unemployment.
In my state, as long as I don't make more than 405 in a week I am still eligible for part of my unemployment. But, for each day that I work I would not get one of my four days of unemployment. I figure that waitressing is one job that I would make more than the money I would lose in a day.
The other advantage to going to work, is it would mean I would be "charged" fewer days in a week and make the unemployment last longer. Right now it can last more than 70 weeks, but my schooling is going to be 2+ years. I need to stretch it out as far as possible, because after that I will be back to working full time and going to school full time, like I did in the early years of college for my Bachelor's degree.
Its a good restaurant, too, with fairly good prices. That means the tips would be good. With my bank right around the corner I would hit the ATM on the way home after work.
They said they would call me for an interview, so wish me luck.

That's funny, Wifey! I'll give it some thought...... and Good Luck on the job thing! That's great that you are going back to school!! I have thought about doing that myself, but not sure that's what I want to do......

I have gotten away from providing updates myself. When next I do it will be all good me thinks. Slow, steady, continual progress here. The favor of the Lord is upon me and I am most grateful for His hand that guides me and makes all things possible.
I took a leap that may come back to bite me in the *ss, guys. We'd talked a few weeks ago about him considering Retrouvaille. I just sent him a brief email with basic retro info.
He absolutely hates too many words, so it only included the website link, the contact information for registering, and a short note.
"I will not push you. I can only give you the information and ask you to consider it. This is the contact info and the website."
He has the info and I will wait to see what he says. I won't ask again. If the time comes and goes to register (the program begins October 9th) then it does, and then I have to reconsider some of my priorities at that point.

I hope he goes for Retrouvaille. That would be a huge step forward if he does. Pray about it and maybe his heart will soften and he will consider it. Don't lose faith.

Well, my fishing trip turned out to be more drowning worms than scaring fish. I caught 1 I would call small and 2 that were so small they were barely fish. If you could have seen the big Canadian nightcrawlers I was using as bait, you would have admired the little ones for "biting" above their league. : )
I am praying about the Retro. It is out of my hands and in God's.
I had a little bit of a down day yesterday. Amazing how those can come out of nowhere. Of course, this is the week I am hormonal, and I live in peri-menopausal h*ll. I ended up just going home after some errands and taking a nap. I felt much better when I woke.
Had dinner with my parents last night and then was surprised to hear that my M and Aunt were going to bingo. Ended up going with. Didn't win, but I had fun. Came home and vegged with a computer game I've gotten into and had ice cream at midnight just because I could. (Doctor's orders, I must gain at least 2 pounds before I go back in November.)
I'll try to check back in later. Most of today will be my volunteer thing with Furniture Link that takes donations of furniture and matches it with people in need. Not sure what I'll do later for fun, but I'm thinking about going to a movie.
