If the 2pm time is not acceptable to you because you can't be there then you need to respond with an alternate time {or two so that he has options} that is acceptable. This is business. In a business situation if you were unable to make a meeting you would suggest another time. Do the same with him. If he refuses then do whatever you have to do to make sure that you are there when he arrives. Just because his name is on the house doesn't mean you have to roll over and give him the run of the place.
