GG1 ... I got almost the EXACT same speech from my wife, right down to the "I don't want to answer to anyone" part. Same reasons. Same refusal to say anything was wrong. Same refusal to even TRY. Same freaking silence. All of it. I know it sucks. It must be something in the air out here. You can't fix what is wrong with him. He's made it clear that he doesn't want things to change. And no, it isn't you choice for this to happen. Just like it isn't your choice, right now, about what happens with the two of you. That sucks, too. I'm living the same problem.
I have no magic solutions to offer since I'm in the same boat. I hope she comes around and comes out of the fog she's in. I also know there is a whole lot we're not being told. Even if we knew, it wouldn't make what we're going though any better. I am with you about liking who you were before and wanting that life back. But right now, today, you still have options. You can do those things that make you that unique and wonderful GG1. He's missing out on someone spectacular.
