Thanks Coach, I do. She did say things to the effect of reading my actions that were totally different from the way I was feeling in the situations she described. She seemed to see coldness when I was believing I was "giving her space, not smothering her".

I told her that she's reading me wrong. I'm not being cold at all. I am resisting what I really want to do, which is be affectionate and comforting, but I told her I'm not going to be affectionate when she appears cold so as to not make her uncomfortable. She responded with "why don't you talk to me and ask me what's the matter instead of assuming things that may not be true".

I guess that is a positive step, wanting me to break the ice when she is in an obvious down mood. I just told her I try, but I get one word responses. She said "ask me what's wrong".
