I'd be a little miffed at her telling the kids, as well... However, you are very fortunate that you two co-parent so well together. I don't know your background, but I can tell by the way you talk about her and your family, that you are definitely holding up your half of the responsibility in doing so.
She's going to do things you don't like. However, if you approach the subjects with the right heart, you can't do anything but create a healthy medium of communication.
You really are just the best. Way to go...
