Back on the downslope with more coldness the last couple of days. Wife now reading some books on divorce and how it affects kids, how to raise them afterwards, etc (hasn't been outward about the books, I just noticed them). Hasn't said a word to me about it, and never really has initiated any serious talk about logistics of divorce.

But you know what? She can read whatever she wants. My position won't change.

And detaching? The other day at dinner when she was away, I pictured my son's teacher in her place, and it actually was a more comforting picture. I don't like my wife as she is now, and would never have married her if she acted like this when we were dating. But I'm still committed to my marriage; I just want my old wife back.
