Nothing new to report yesterday, except W was home when I got home from work. She left work after a couple of hours because her back was hurting her and she had a bad headache. This happens when she feels stressed. She gets tension headaches that cause her neck to tighten up. She went to the chiropractor twice yesterday.

W's driving my D11 to school today for the last time and it will be their chance to say goodbye. Hope it's not too sad for either of them.

Sorry I don't have more to update...next two days might be interesting.

Before my W got home from work yesterday, I brought her bedroom furniture down to the living room to make it easier for the movers tomorrow. Got a few more things to bring down tonight...then she's all set to go.

I suspect we'll have the "goodbye" talk tonight or tomorrow morning. Hope I can hold it together.

Any bets on whether she mentions or takes the D paperwork that's been sitting on my dresser for weeks?

I'll keep you posted.

Keep it together, do whatever is necessary to maintain the appearance that you'll be just fine.

Good luck, I know it's not easy.

Bill,

I just wanted to stop by and say that I know that must have been very hard, but you handled this ABSOLUTELY PERFECTLY.

Nicely done.

Totally agree with Puppy. Fine job Bill...

Let her see you as the strong one. Nothing more attractive to a woman than a strong man who can handle whatever life throws his way as she observes him being perfectly happy just the way thngs are in his life and moving on down the road.

Last night I help my W and step D move the last of their furniture and stuff into the living room for the movers. Acted like I was helping a buddy move. My W thanked me for helping. This morning when I got up she was already awake, had been since 3:30. Nervous energy anticipating her move? Anxiety over it? Who knows. She looked like she may have been crying. We said goodbye, short and sweet. I told her I wished things had turned out differently and I hope she finds her happiness. She said pretty much the same. We hugged. I got a little teary eyed, but I’m not going to beat myself up over that. I realize women are attracted to strong , confident men, but I would think emotionless, stoic men are just as unattractive. I think a few tears were an appropriate reaction under the circumstances.

I left to run some errands and go for a bike ride with my BIL’s. When I got home, she was gone and I’m doing quite well. She did not take the D paperwork that’s been sitting on my dresser for weeks. Not reading anything into that…probably not her biggest priority right now.

I’ve got a busy weekend planned. I’m meeting a friend this afternoon to discuss our “strategy” for our Fantasy Football draft tonight. Best night for it…being with 20 of my closest friends with no opportunity to dwell on or talk about the events of today. Always one of my favorite nights of the year. Tomorrow I’m painting my D’s bedroom… she’s moving into my step D’s old room. Hope to have it all ready for her for Tuesday.

After that I’m getting on with my life…the rest is out of my hands.

Argh, more fantasy football! BF is in four leagues this year and spent a good portion of last night setting up his rankings, etc. But at least I love football too so I don't (usually) mind watching all the games every week.

Have fun at your draft! And when you're done painting I have a closet here that needs to be done. wink

Fantasy football...for all of us "over-the-hill" types.

A closet...a nominal fee, but you'll have to pay my travel expenses from the Windy City. What the hell...with all the advice and support you've given me...I'll do it for free!

Well, the closet needs to be sanded, patched, new shelves installed and painted. I am perfectly capable of doing it myself (and that is the plan) but I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Windy City, huh? My second choice of places to live, love it there! Fabulous architecture, great theatre scene, all major sports. Just the weather and insects that give me pause.

The weather here is unpredictable to say the least...45 deg this morning, high of 67 expected....in August???

First morning waking up to no one else in the house in 4+ yrs...actually feels pretty good. I've got my dog, the newspaper and a fresh cup of coffee...what more could I ask for.

Glad to hear the first day started well. Don't worry when you hit a sad spell (cause it will happen).

Wanted to let you know I'm on vacation this week but will check in when I can.

Keep up the good work!
