.... I marinated some really nice thick pork chops in a hawaiian luau marinade and then grilled them on my gas grill. I made coconut ginger jasmine rice and roasted zucchini, yellow squash, portobello mushrooms and sweet onions. It was seriously yummy!

.... Every time I use my grill I get a little jolt of pride. Gabe would never get a gas grill, he only like charcoal. I hated the mess and the waiting for the coals to get hot. Last year I bought a gas grill, brought it home in the box and put it all together myself and I haven't blown up the thing yet! It took me 3 days to get it put together, but I did it myself! So, tonight while I grilled the chops I looked at the grill and just kept thinking - HA!

You go girl!!! I know how ya' feel! I remember one time, when H was out to sea, and I was cleaning the fishbowl and some of those little rocks went down in the garbage disposal.......I wasn't too diligent about preventing it because stupid me thought the disposal would just grind them into dust, right? Well, all of the sudden the darn disposal was making this horrible noise and I smelled something burning!! Well, figuring I couldn't break it any more than it was, I took the thing apart and cleaned out the pretty little colored rocks, and put it back together, and darned if it didn't work!!! It still works to this day (some 10 years later) and ever time I use it, I have to smile a little....

.... .... I asked him who was so interested in what we were having for dinner and he said it was his dad. He was even describing how thin the onion was sliced and how the pork chops had pretty diamond char marks on them from the grill. It was pretty funny! I hope Gabe was eating his heart.....
