Oh yeah - and 'slang' = idiomatic language, often specific to a region or country.

Examples:

Peeps = people
Rubber = eraser (in England)
Rubber = condom (in the US)
Bloke = man (Aus.)
Sheila = girl (Aus.)

"How's it hangin'?" = How are you? (US)
"Where y'at?" = How are you? (New Orleans)

etc.
