She's been out since the beginning of June. There's still some of her stuff at my house, until she's got closet painted, and rods in them. And her quilts are still hanging on the walls, until her walls are all painted. There is some stuff in the garage she needs to take, mostly it is the kids', so I can't get too upset about that. None of it is causing any trouble. I've got about four times the space I can use, maybe more!

Trailer park, indeed! The word is modular!

Now I am going to have to try to figure out how many units it is. From the inside it's hard to tell. I might be able to count the support posts, I bet there is one at every corner!

((((Jeff)))),

Modular what - office? Like a pod? All I know is you get to goof off on the internet when you're at work, and I can't and that is a grave injustice.

Well I stayed at work longer than I said I would, but got enough done that I don't have to go in tomorrow. I brought all the paperwork home to read this weekend, and I'll work on other small tasks at home also.

Got invited to go sailing tomorrow, but I really neglected my flowers this week, and a day of putzing around the flowers, catching up on mail, housework, etc. It'll be cold on the water tomorrow - only going to be 62. And I'm sore and bruised from all my unpacking. Hmmmmm. .

Any fun plans for you this weekend?

You're probably right, about the Barbie TM.

Back to the drawing board!

Stacy

The office looks permanent enough, but it was brought in and assembled in parts. I am going to try to count how many sections there are one of these days!

Being able to spend time on the net comes and goes. Sometimes I don't get on for days.

Good job getting so much done today! Sailing sounds fun... but 62 sounds cold! I don't know what I would decide!

I don't know for sure what will happen this weekend. Both kids want to go golf cart driving, so I might have to go golfing twice! And maybe we'll see a move. We just got home from eating Chinese... they had a good time. As I was guzzling iced tea, S11 told the waitress the story of my giving up sodas! She had done it, but only for a month. I told her what I had discovered about the calories, I wouldn't be shocked if she tried again! Earlier I had said something to S14, using his name, and her name was a feminine form of his! So, it was all a little fun!

Jeff,

Happy to hear you had such a nice time w/your sons.

Thanks for your condolences for Joey. My students die on a regular basis - but there was hope for Joey. But he was denied the drug trial -- and here we are, his family and me.

And it makes me so mad -- all these DB people, they think their life is so hard! Oh, my SO left me, what did I do? I love kids every day who never did anything - and are so compromised. People whine and cry about why -- but they walk and talk and work and love. And in the end -- there are worse things.

There are always worse things.

Sorry, always a little sad when on of my innocents is dying.

It's fine.

E

I'm sure it's hard, and I don't see how you couldn't be sad! I know you brightened his life, and I think it was very important.

Just because it happens regularly, doesn't make it any easier.

No, it doesn't get easier.

There is something so not right about the innocent dying. It's fine - just down. He made so much progress and then - BAM - and it's fine.

I'm not his mom, after all.

It's fine. I just thought he'd make it, that's all. It's fine.

You know what....

You don't need to say it's fine, when it's not. I know it will be fine, but it doesn't need to be fine tonight.

I'd give you a hug, if I could. I've said it before, you are not alone.

So, when will it be fine?

We had high hopes for him, with the drug trial, that's all.

When school started, a year ago, he knew the alphabet and could count to 20.

Degenerative mitochondrial disease - - to qualify you have to have three systems degenerating. Joey is neurological, muscular/skeletal, and cardio.

Now he has braces on his legs, can't speak, but when you look in his eyes, which I do, at least twice a week; you see that he is so scared and trapped.

But thanks for the support.

Stacy

When....
I don't know when.

It's one reason I am so impressed that you can do what you do is that you have to deal with your kids dying. I turn into a blithering idiot every time I read about a kid dying before his or her time. Seriously. I know it happens. I know I can't stop it. I know there are other people it hurt a lot more than it hurts me. But even so.....

So it's ok for you to be sad. For as long as it takes, whatever that is.

HUGS!
