Well I had to call wife Wednesday night about an issue with the kids. MIL answered the phone. She let wife know I was on the phone. Wife sounded excited to hear from me. We had a follow up phone call for the same issue yesterday. Again she was upbeat and sounded like her old self.
Last night I sent her a text sending hugs and kisses from the kids. She said she is already trying to find another place of her own.
I took a little bit of a chance. Wednesday and thursday were the first days I've actually talked to her in a couple of months. I sent her the following text:
"I want to say something to you but I don't want it to come across wrong. It was really nice hearing your voice"
Her response: "Well sometimes we have to talk for the kids but nothing has changed between us. Sorry"
