Hi All,

I'm off to China for a week on business. For once I'm actually feeling sad about leaving W and D7 behind, maybe because things at home are calmer, even settled.

Anyway I think I'll have internet access so I'll be reading but not necessarily posting.

Bye All

This trip to China is all business, the fun trips were to the Philippines and Thailand but my projects don't take me there anymore.

So my emphasis will be on being careful, as in keeping safe.

Just back from a successful business trip to China, lost luggae and flight delays couldn’t dampen my delight at being home. That was made all the better by the loving welcome given to me by W and D7. D7 seems to have grown and the two of them bonded while I was away but both of them missed me thoroughly.

It’s just nice to be home.

Just a quick update on current events as I don’t post too often these days. Well W and I continue to get on well.

Today we went to a shopping mall out of town, no particular reason, this is D7 first week back in school and both W and I took time off work and W just said we need to spend time together.

We had a good time wandering around the shops W bought a new coat, I just looked at a whole range of boys toys I couldn’t afford or didn’t really need.

We ended the trip with a drink in a bar, W thanked me for being her chuffer for the day, a good companion and just for spending time with her. She also reminded me that we always used to do this sort of thing (before the bomb), and we should do it more often. I agreed, but mentally I was thinking if this was all you really wanted , why did you feel the need to [censored] an OM in a hotel room instead of just saying so. Anyway I’ll just lock that thought away again and finish on a positive note, today was a good day, and hopefully it will end well at bedtime.

Things are on an upward swing at the moment, W and I went out power walking last night, she wanted to do this while the weather was still good, once the autumn sets in then its back indoors to the gym for her (which she hates). She’s piled on a few pounds over the last few months so I’m supporting her in her efforts to losing them.

I’ve been emailing my brother about cycling, one of his cycling enthusiast friends is putting together a custom built touring bike, basically a hybrid of the best of what you can get in the shops (Trek 1.2 frame, Shimano 106 chainset, etc, etc) but he’s willing to sell at a much less price, I’m waiting to see what it looks like before I make an offer. Then I’m going to get out onto them roads and cycle.

The last few nights W has been asking me to make sure we go to bed at the same time so we can cuddle, cuddling is fine, cuddling is progress, so things are ok at the moment.

Busy day yesterday, D7 turned D8 and we had a go karting party for her and 10 friends at the local sports centre, all of them thoroughly enjoyed the event. The rest of the day was spent opening the many presents D8 had received from family and friends.

In the evening we all went to a surprise 70th birthday party for a family friend on W side, we managed to catch up with lots of family and friends whose kids had grown beyond recognition. W marvelled at how much D8 had grown and what a great job we had done raising her. ( sorry but I take all the credit).

Today I took D8 to church and we gave thanks for all the lovely present she received, although during the service D8 did nudge me a couple of times to let me know she was bored. I guess that’s is just another sign of her growing up.
