If you buy a tent, spend the extra $ to get a good one with a solid rainfly that goes all the way to the ground, taped seams, a waterproof floor, etc. It really makes an difference if when the weather goes bad.
There are a lot of cheaper tents out there, but they are really only good when you don't really need a tent anyway.
Thanks Thinker. I was looking at campmor.com last night. Can't decide if I should go with a 4 person tent initially and then get a 6 person if we stay interested in it or just get the 6 person. I read some stuff last night that said you should buy a tent that is 2 persons larger than the # of people who will typically be sleeping in it. That way, you have room for your gear.
