Well, I didn't know that, did I? wink

Where were you?

April is a good time to be around here.

D17 and I were in Phoenix, looking at the Honors College at ASU.

Her first choices are all in CA - that's her back-up.

It didn't help that we'd just been in SF, San Diego and at Pepperdine - which I forget where it is - duh!

So Phoenix was bleak. All that ocean, and then all that sand - oh my, and so much brown frown

Luckily, we were only there one night.

I know it's beautiful in it's way - I just don't "get" it.

Neither did D17.

I find Phoenix bleak. I think Tucson is much nicer, better mountains, less asphalt. Northern AZ is nice, and there are lakes along the Colorado.

You might "get" it more with a friendly guide...... wink

It's real hard to argue with San Diego, though.

I've been to Tuscon - looooong ago. I was 15 - I don't remember much, except college boys on spring break trying to get me to out with them.

They were unsuccessful.

I'm sure there is much to be said for a friendly guide wink

So, the college boys had good taste, and you had good sense!

There really are a few things here worth seeing.
This is probably the best:

Very unique. It says museum, but it's kind of a zoo, but it's not that either!

Mt. Lemmon is right on the edge of town, and is a little over 9000 feet high. Which is a bit taller than anything in the midwest. It's got the southernmost ski resort in the country. Though some winters that doesn't work out so well, especially as it has been kind of droughty lately. But the lift is open year round, and you can go up and see for miles and miles. It's also a lot cooler than in town, so it's a nice summer day trip!

And I think you could find a friendly guide.

If you are forced to go to San Diego again, that's not too far to get to, either!

Time for dinner at the to-be-ex-in-laws. And I'll get to see S19... he flew in last night, W picked him up a the airport. S21 and a friend went over to fetch him sometime after midnight, and they came back and hung out, and played computer games all night. I did get to say hello as I went out the door this morning. He leaves tomorrow afternoon for college, no idea how he is going to get packed!

He was frustrated because he had told them earlier that I was only 15.

And no one is ever "forced" to go to San Diego. You go there with your heart full of pure joy to be somewhere so beautiful. D's first choice is UCSD - which is actually in LaJolla -- which is absolutely GORGEOUS!!

You, sir are an outrageous flirt wink

BobbiJo... Ha! I just saw your response about the ice cream! Typical question!!! Hey, I see you're in Iowa... You're not too far from Stacy and me! Maybe we should do a MidWest Group!
