Wow! You wound up w/some nice kids!!! We'll just call my D18... JUST LIKE HER MOM!! LOL Not exactly always appropriate, a little over the edge, smart as a professor, but why use it when you're this cute? LOL LOL

I am funny after three drinks at lunch, eh?

Christian Life. My kids went to the AG Christian Life School in our city (D18 PreK-8th grade, and S12 PreK-3rd grade). Only problem... they went to school with the kids they went to church with the kids they went to Sunday school with the kids they went to youth group with... And, it was a bit cultish! Wednesday nights they had 1000+ kids at Cross Current (pretty cool) but being slain in the spirit, speaking in tongues, etc... And, the school? They thought you were qualified to teach Honors Algebra if you were a missionary from S. Africa. NOT my style!!! Frankly, I didn't fit in w/the Winnie the Pooh sweatshirt/Naturlizer shoe moms. They thought I was a freak, and had a pole in my bedroom. (Good idea, though!)

The local one here is just whacked. Good education though!

D17 has NEVER been grounded!! WOW! I'm impressed!

Not sure about the Lutheran WELS or Missouri Synod refers to, and I'm actually on the BOD! LOL Show show much I pay attention! I just am on it in case I need a favor. wink We go to a local church that's part of Willow Creek in Barrington... A little more my style. I can wear my wedges!

My pharma customer called me while I was out at lunchtime. Ill update you when I get ahold of him!

That sounds just about right...

I'm wondering, is your H suffering from some sort of brain damage?

Jeff... YES!

Here's an example.

H has driven all night to be here to go with to take boys to first day of school. He's not exactly charming, but NMFP, as I am always kind, courteous, and down right awesome no matter the circumstance. Near f*ckin perfect, too. LOL

So, he has been having this issue w/his back, and our mattress literally hurting him so much that he is walking odd. We switch to D18's old mattress to see if it helps. He puts a SLED (LOLOL) under his half, to see if hit helps. Finally, he sleeps on the floor NEXT to the bed, and says it is better.

OK... long story longer...

So, he looks at mattresses. The one he wants is $3k. "Im not spending $3k on a mattress." (This, coming from a man that has about $200k in toys sitting around house... OK?) MB, "Whatever makes you happy, Dear, as I'm sleeping like a baby."

ComplainComplain, HunchbackPainComplain...

I go online, find the damned mattress, and it comes w/a 90-day trial, where you pay the shipping $300, and if you like it, they bill you the cost of the mattress. If you don't, they come and get it. Sounds reasonable?

H comes in this am, after kids are at school, and he's had a 45 min nap. "I saw your email about the mattress. Did you even read the fine print? Why would I want to pay $300 to try a mattress for 90-days? Obviously you just forwarded it without consideration."

I said... "Listen, (silently - [censored])H, YES, I considered it. If you are truly in pain, you would, too. If not, I get the fact that it's a way of further distancing yourself from me. It doesn't take a f*cking genious to get it. Figure it out, or not. Just don't complain to me, or brush off my efforts. Not interested."

We go to lunch, have a great time w/BFF, the kids and D18's best boy friend.

H calls as I'm walking in the door afterwards.

"Can you get me the number of that "Mattress Company"?

MB: "I'd love to. I'll txt it to you when I'm free."

(I WANTED TO SAY... "Sure, It's 1-800-GOF*CKYOURSELF!")

Sorry, the F bomb is a staple today.

OK, bye.

It might be a good thing I'm not closer.... your sense of humor hits me just about right!

W complained about out mattress, too. Then she would sleep on the lumpiest sofa in the world. I said we could get a mattress, but nooooooo, since it would go on a credit card for a while. Not that that stopped us from getting lots of other stuff. It didn't take a rocket scientist (or even a multi-disciplined engineer) to figure out that it was just one more of her rationalizations, and that there was no point in getting a new mattress, or talking about it.

A charmer! smile

I'm only about 75% pissed off about this, though. As I see him, when he doesn't think I'm looking, hunched, stretching, etc... But, I'm still seriously pissed.

THANK YOU!

MB,

Glad you refrained from going ape$hit on your H. Good for you.

Also sounds like you had a FUN lunch -- good for you.

Yeah, the whole church/school/youth group thing, I could see that getting too intertwined. We don't have that issue.

So the moms dress well at the schools your kids attend?

I rarely see moms in anything but sweats, pajama bottoms, jeans (at least 5 years out of style) and crocs. I hate it when people where those stinking crocs around.

Sounds like you're hangin' in.

Made good progress today - it just gets old. They move pre-school programs around willy nilly. This is my THIRD move in five years. It's exhausting. They don't even provide you with boxes when your room is moved. And you're not paid for any of the time it takes to pack or unpack.

Sorry for the rant. I love teaching, it's the day laborer aspect I could do without. Part of the reason I WENT to college was to avoid physical labor at all costs!

But I will say that when you are a fashionably dressed Mom, you're viewed with GREAT suspicion. Same at work, God Forbid you have a fashionably dressed educator.

And I've actually researched putting a pole in my bedroom. Have you ever taken the stripper classes?? Total great workout.

I assume at the mention of a stripper pole, Jeff will be checking in shortly;)
