If you can get in to talk to someone, they can see about representing you on a contingency fee - meaning they get paid a % if you win some $$. It'll depend on whether you have a good shot at winning whether they'll do that of course.
Check with a local law school - they have students who work in clincs under a supervising attorney who can help you!
Also ask about lawyers looking to do pro bono (meaning free!).
