My 17 year old is a senior. No dress yet - don't know that she'll even go. She's VERY focused on her studies - 3.9 GPA. She's already earned 15 college credits, taking AP classes. By the time she graduates, she'll have a year of college credits completed. And they don't cost ME anything!! She had a boyfriend her sophomore year, and they broke up because she wouldn't have sex w/him. Since then, she hasn't dated much - just does thing w/her big group of friends. She's class VP, student council, and doing Freshman Transisition Coaching. Last year she went to Homecoming in a group - some had dates, some didn't. She's in public school.
Sons go to Christian Life - that is an Assembly of God school. S14 has special needs due to epilepsy (brain damage, you know) - he also struggles socially, is having a hard time "fitting in". Just struggling right now. In addition, both the boys are taking their Uncle's illness and impending death very hard.
S12 is the BOMB!! He turns 13 next month and I keep tellling him we're skipping it, because I don't want him going to the "dark side" of teenagerdom. He's a great student, plays piano, swims, plays in the handbell choir at church.
I can't complain too much -- D17 has never been grounded. She's a little grumpy personality wise -- one of her teachers calls her "Eyeore"!!!! But w/four adolescents, there isn't as much drama as you'd think. D19 has her act together -- loves college, hated high school - so didn't feel that turning in her assignments was worth her time!
Lutheran, huh? Not WELS or Missouri Synod? I'm Methodist - and all three of my pastors are women, and they all drink. Although Linda only drinks gin, I was the one w/the gimlets last night.
Okay, back to the unpacking of my 183 boxes.
Let me know about lunch. I'd go to Milwaukee, too.
