D18 WAS registered for Eastern Illinois University, and WAS leaving this month, majoring in Nutrition/Dietetics OR Psychology. D18's grades weren't great her last year/mostly semester, and she had been told she had to have a 3.0 to go in the Fall. Well, she didn't get it, and, ignored every warning to stop goofing off and do something, coupled with the fact that she had lost her job for a stupid mistake she made, and neglected to get another one... So, we told her the registration was put on hold for two semesters, and she had to prove to us she was worthy of $20k per year in tuition, etc... She has since moved into an apartment locally, with two of her friends; one excellent student, one not, and they're all going to the local cc.
I could write a book on this child. Someday I won't get an ulcer thinking about her teen years! She's DARLING, outgoing, and out making her way her OWN way... Just wish I didn't get all of her facebook notifications to my phone! She's having the time of her life. (I did at her age, too, but it's hard to watch and know the seriousness of getting caught now.)
The latest is that she is considering Special Ed (STACE!), OR Graphic Arts. We'll see. She's just not there yet. Hope it doesn't take too long to GET THERE! I'll have to start getting full dye jobs, instead of just new highlights to hide the gray!
