If I had waited a long time to feel "natural" in saying "I love you" to my H, and then finally said it, I would want it to be naturally taken....My guess is that she was ticked that you made it a big deal instead of natural. She likes you strong, confident, sexy...not needy, or condescending.....
I know you didn't mean anything other than being loving, but she may have felt another way than you meant her to feel.
