Karen, Fed law mandates that you have only 60 days to complete due process from the date you sign the informed consent until they are tested and placed by district. Since you have private testing you should be able to sign a temporary placement form until their testing is complete. If they do a temporary placement they will develop an IEP for that time. Check with the Special Education Supervisor for the district prior to school starting. The ball can get rolling before school starts.
Ok, I haven't signed the consent yet, although both H and I gave them copies of our testing about a week ago. I guess I will ask about signing consent then next week.
The temporary placement form? Does that mean they will or should do some kind of accomodations before the 60 days? Sorry I'm ignorant about all this at this point! Or do you think it will be 60 days then before she would get accomodations? Karen
