Wow, GIMA. I am so sorry to hear this, but yes, he's in a better place.
My grandmother is just the same - her knee doesn't hurt anymore, her back doesn't hurt anymore, and after 87 years of taking care of everyone in this family as best she could, she's now in a place where *she* will be taken care of, always.
