I came home and did not talk about the Alton Brown tickets. Helped make dinner, then helped S with homework.
W acting normally. Later, I mentioned very matter of factly, I think the Alton Brown thing is actually a taping for the 10th anniversary of his show. W, "Oh."
So, we put the kids down and set in to watch a britcom DVD W ordered from Blockbuster. I mention before first episode starts that I will take care of the sitter for AB, and that it is a 2:00 taping. W, "OK, well a, b and c are my first choices."
W is not excited, but I really didn't expect her to be. I think she will enjoy it.
Anyway, I'm acting like nothing's amiss, b/c it isn't. So, I guess I'm not acting. W playing it cool too. Who's gonna blink first...
Find a great restaurant for after the show. Can you get a picture taken with AB? Make it memorable, no pressure and have your groove on.

Have you actually invited W yet? I thought part of Coach's game plan was to just let her know you scored the tix without actually inviting her... yet... but, I could have misconstrued the play.

Yeah, I liked that too. But, she played it pretty cool too so don't know what affect it had (not my issue anyway). She did call me this am re things she's buying for a new cat (I'm a dog person) we are getting this weekend. Oh, and the during the day instant msgs returned after she quit her job.
We'll just have to see what happens. I'm good in any case.
Don't let her reaction get to you - although it sounds like you aren't. It was probably somewhat unbalancing for her to not be invited right away, and she may have felt you invited her as an afterthought. I'm pretty sure this was part of Coach's plan though, so don't run in to fix it.

You are correct - I am not letting anything she does/doesn't affect me. And, there is nothing to fix with ME, so "If it ain't broke...."
Where is AB taping? Can you take her to dinner in the Highlands? There's a great italian place there I love called "La Tavola Trattoria" that is excellent or a Thai place called "Surin of Thailand". Great curries there!
