From the time S11 started playing soccer, he was more interested in defense than offense! When they played without a keeper, he was always the first one to peel back to try to stop the other team. Last year he didn't start out as keeper on his team, it seemed that the coach that decided that had his mind made up. Despite that, by the end of the year, he was the primary keeper, and did a pretty good job. It sounds like this year he is the keeper, though they have just started practice. He complains a little now and then because he sometimes wants to play defense. And actually, he'd make a good forward, he has a good nose for the ball, and he kicks left footed, given the choice, which catches people by surprise.
I haven't met a lot of 11 and 12 year olds who like to run!
