I'm glad you are enjoying yourself. I'm sure your son will be fine. And if the car breaks down, well, lesson learned. lol. Hopefully he will be ok.

Thats great that your H is enjoying himself at the house. Every little bit helps that can bring them closer to coming back. The text messages sound very positive.

I think God is working things for you. Every thing seems to be looking good. Just keep being patient and I bet that you 2 end up back together before you know it.

How's the trip??? Flat iron? LOL I looked like a mop head when I tried to use one. Not a good look! My D18 does superb things with hers, though!

Hey guys, its quiet just because I have been trying to take a load off my sister. The littles are so adorable and I don't get to see them all the time. Poor S & BIL are sleep deprived.

I am enjoying thinking about him being comfy at home and then him having to go back to Mommies. Actually, he doesn't have to, but if he chooses to, then well, that is what he chooses. I have no expectations, but I do hope it just makes him think a bit.

S has kept in touch so far. He sent me a picture message yesterday to show me he'd cut his hair into a brush cut. I told him it looked good. (Honestly haven't seen short hair on him since he was in 9th or 10th grade.) I guess it is low maintenance for the trip.

The day he left he wound up in Pittsburgh, PA. The next he was in Columbus, Ohio. Today he made it to Kokomo? Idaho. He sent me a picture message of a full-pipe he rode at a skate park there. Not sure if I mention it already, but my S is big-time into BMX and has been riding for many years. The trip will be skatepark to skatepark all the way there.

I continue to pray for his safety and worry, of course. That's what us Mom's do - worry.

kokomo is indiana i believe. woulda been quite a hike for him to have gone columbus to idaho, not to mention that it is in no way on the way to denver or wherever in CO he is headed. Where is he headed?

Tomato, you are right, it was indiana. I am not exactly sure where in Colorado he is headed. This entire trip is out of my control and I am trying really hard not to worry, but I am still worrying.

Tonight I am babysitting and I told my S & BIL to have a date night. They went out for dinner and a movie. This is definitely a rare treat for them.

I didn't get the call this week about interviewing for the job as school business manager. I passed the civil service exam, but the HR head was on vacation until Tuesday. Coupled with the fact that they have to wait to get the list from civil service of the qualified candidates (there are 5 of us), I was fairly certain I might not hear until next week.

This is why I slipped away when I did. At this point there is no rush to get home, although I am going to head to visit our own SMW on the way North. May be tomorrow, might not be until Monday, I am just playing it by ear at this point. I kind of figure when I do hear that I will have a couple days to get home before the interview. The entire trip home is only a days' drive, so I see no reason to rush.

Well, I'm off to check on my peeps.

Quick little update, I just heard from my S. He is in Denver with his friend Ben. I sure hope he didn't drive faster than his guardian angel could fly.

Let my H know by text. H responded that he can't help but feel he is unsafe with Ben. Also asked how my vacation is. I said S is with Ben, but he is his own person. I hoped he would have good sense. I didn't respond to the inquiry about my vacation. I don't know, I just didn't think it was necessary.

Darn, another text. He said he was just saying how he felt. I responded, that I hope he see's Ben's going nowhere life for what it is. (He is bi-polar, quit high school, no GED, and the last I knew couldn't hold down a job in fast food even. Real shame, too, because he used to be an awesom kid.) Also said H's feelings were valid & I wasn't trying to imply they weren't.
