So. A mutual friend e-mails me -- who doesn't, by the way, know about all this here D-Stuff.

"Funny how you and Mrs. SP have the same FB status!"

Huh? So I check -- I can see Herself's page-preview even though she "de-friended" me long ago.

By damn he's right. Not only the same status, the same PICTURE to go with the status. It's an inside marriage joke we had for years.

So during the course of a perfectly respectable e-mail exchange on some household matters -- WAW will be baby-sitting the kids in my house while I'm in Europa starting next week -- the topic of internet access came up.

Since I need her MAC address to load her on the WiFi router, I was talking computing generally and, throwing caution to the wind, tossed in a snarky, "So your FB status-well ran dry, I see; copying mine now, are you? Should I leave some ideas in the office before I leave?"

To which she replied, essentially, whatchu-talkin'-'bout-Willis?

So I took a screenshot of my profile page and pasted it into my reply.

That's funny, sez Herself. And sad. It always made me laugh. I'm not even sure why I put it up.

Me being me, and defying the Laws of DB Gravity, Smiley's Person replies as follows:

"Oh well, it's karma. The FB doesn't lie. We were made for each other."

To which WAW sends the following:

I always thought so. frown

Hmmm. Here kitty, kitty.

So I reply in my most diplomatic, a**-covering, plausible-deniability-enhancing rhetoric:

"I would not be disposed to ruling out-of-hand the possibility that this is perhaps still the case."

And 10 minutes later, WAW asked me on a date.

LOL, we say cats are loyal to the house not to the owner. Not sure how that applies here...

I was going to suggest that YOU ask HER for a date before you leave the States...but this is EVEN BETTER.

You said "yes"...right???

Excellent cat-herding move. "Yes" means yes. "Deal" is packed with catnip.

Cheers~

Smiley - thank you SO much for the cat-herding link. I am going straight to Netflix and putting Billy Crystal's City Slickers in my queue. That sense of humor is just what the Dr. ordered!!

The trouble with having an open mind is that people put things in it.

This is me, patting you on the back. Keep it calm, easy, and peaceful and she may just see a different side of SP

yes, be catnip now. be irresistable. cats are very curious animals. can be very affectionate, can turn on you in a second, love to play and disembowel critters. be wise now, be aware and be loving.

Cheers
