Just got off the phone with W. She initiated call after being dark all weekend. This is normal for her as she works 12 hour eve shift. I answered very upbeat and she made one comment about just waking up then jumped into her reason for call. Reason, to see if D11 had gone to school orientation yet. To which I replied yes and gave her the details of what a wonderful time we had. Also let her know we went and purchased school supplies for D11. Told her how I found a way to save money by giving D11 a budget and letting her choose supplies. Kicker is she gets to keep the left over money. Not sure who enjoyed the shopping trip more me or my kids.
Back to W. She seemed rather cold today. Asked her if something was wrong. She said she was just tired and gets this way after working all weekend. The she commented on being upset about not going to orientation with D11. My comment was sorry you feel that way but I didn't know you wanted to take her. She started getting very short with me trying to talk logistics again about other kids and her picking the gang up tomorrow. I offered to drop them by tonight as I have plans and they would just be home with sitter. Nope. She's got things going on today and is to busy. Pride is a silly thing.
From a personal perspective I am noticing a difference in my reaction. Normally I would have gotten angry and started to pace. Maybe even called her back to discuss further. Today I just sat down and wrote this entry. Now back to work. Can't forget #1 goal for today is set up coaching session with DB.
