I could see it coming, O -- all your posts recently about "your traditional present," etc. I could see you were setting yourself up for disappointment. I'm really sorry; I know EXACTLY how that feels, and it sucks, no two ways about it. The one gift you want doesn't cost anything but some time and some effort, and she can't give it to you. Sad.
On a lighter note, re: "gravy" and "macaroni" -- you must by a NYC-area Italian! My wife's family calls it the same thing!
