You may recall I looked into Medifast, but their program is 90% liquid, shakes and soups. I sampled a few and they were not very tasty so I scrapped that idea. With just me around most of the time, I didn't want something where you had to go to meetings or weigh in several times a week, I am busy enough getting Nathan to karate, me to karate, allergy shots, etc.
So I went with Nutrisystem. It is 70% their prepackaged food and then you add in dairy, fruit, veggies, salad. For example, yesterday for breakfast I had 2 blueberry muffins, an apple, and string cheese. For lunch I had Chicken Cacciatore, salad, and yogurt. For dinner I had Homestyle beef with gravy and mashed potatoes. I was supposed to have salad and 2 veggie servings as well but I was busy on the yard sale and didn't. Then for my snack/dessert (you get one per day) I had pretzels. But they have awesome Chocolate Dream bars or something like that, chocolate with caramel on top. Yum!
I just love that I can eat pasta, pizza, desserts, meat & potatoes, etc. Grilled chicken or fish every day gets monotonous!
Plus I gave up pop two weeks ago when I started this thing. Sugar-free drinks are allowed so I get those Crystal light things and mix them in my water. Of course, drinking a lot of water is encouraged.
The only "cheat" I really have is my morning coffee. I put vanilla creamer in it even though it is not sugar free. Found out the hard way after giving up pop that my body still needs a small dose of caffeine + sugar in the morning, then no headache all day long.
Sorry for the tangent, everyone. Back to regular programming...
