Brave, sounds like you are standing up for yourself quite well. Don't sweat the financials, she is the one that left, maybe she should have thought of the impact prior to leaving the house. It also seems that she has no problem throwing the "poor me " attitude for you. Maybe you need to tell her you will have the money at the car exchange, then if she doesn't show, tell her you used the money to rent the car you needed. Just a thought.....
