This is why I do not like celebrity status and earning so much money for doing very little. Acting is like any other job, and I think actors/singers/sportsmen get paid way too much. They entertain us (even distract us), yes, but what they do is really just as irrelevant as what most of us do. The bad marital examples of infidelity coming from Hollywood is in every magazine, newspaper, tv --- ya can't get away from it. More distraction. Perhaps they feel entitled now that they can 'get' anyone they want. Yes, many have talent, some really don't, but they are packaged well so we, the sucker public, buy their stuff.

In ancient times, talent like singing or storytelling would be traded for food or a roof over their heads for the night. Farmers, healers, fishermen had more important jobs. Maybe, this is why there is such an imbalance of wealth in the world --- too many people are doing things that don't advance our world, so there is less to pay attention to things like science, environment, agriculture, etc. Some celebrities do give money to charities, etc. Sometimes, I wonder if it's because they care, or because their rates or newsworthiness is sinking. Who knows for sure?

I dunno, it all just seems upside down. All I'll say is that celebrities are pretty much freeloaders on society (actors, for example, sometimes act about true heroes, yet they are the ones getting all the praise). What's with that? Then we so-called fans think they will be true heroes in real life, when they are just a fancier version of joe and jill public.

As for politicians --- well, many are hypocrites, liars, claiming family values while cheating on their spouses (even ones whose wife is fighting breast cancer).

Just some observations. 'Nuff said! grin
