Here in the hot beaver state, we are looking at triple digits early next week, and that is not a dry heat. Hard to believe that I am looking forward to my Hawaii trip in a week so as to escape the muggy Oregon heat.
Speaking of Beavers, the Portland Beaver baseball team is soon to be without a place to play (soccer taking over stadium) and are now in discussion with the nearby city of Beaverton to provide them a stadium. It seems redundant - Beaverton Beavers.
Funny story about the Oregon heat. For my wedding, my great aunt and uncle DIDN'T come down cuz my aunt doesn't do well in the heat. The day of my wedding, it was only 87! But in Eugene...it was 101. I told her it was karma for not coming to my wedding lol.

Saturday I went on a journey with the woman I am dating to see her family. (The second one hasn't said a thing for a couple weeks, I have a feeling there is meaning to that, but I need to make sure....) First I had to drive the 45 minutes to her place, and transfer to her car. We drove up to the Phoenix area and picked up her daughter and grandson, and a long time friend of her daughter that was visiting. So the car was packed.... Then we went north into the mountains, to a "cabin" (using the word really loosely) that belongs to one of her sisters. There I got to meet her two sisters, her brother, and two of the three spouses, as well as her parents. It was just a bit intimidating, but everyone was really nice, so I guess she must be saying nice things about me! We stayed for about three hours, then back in the car to reverse the process! Got back to her place and watched a little TV (it's kind of funny, since I rarely watch, so a lot of it is not familiar to me), and then I headed home. Picked up one kid from a sleepover, the other was already at a friends house (had been since morning) for a sleepover. Date victim and I get along pretty well, though I am not sure where things are headed. Though they are headed there slowly! Though inviting me to meet her whole family must have a little meaning!
Anyway, yesterday I picked S11 up from his sleepover in the late morning, and he was saying that his friend had a hamster they wanted to give him. They have two, and the female was always trying to escape her habitat to try and visit the male. And they don't want little hamsters! So, S11 called his mom at work, since the hamster would have to live at her house. He was quite surprised when she said yes! Then she talked to me, and told me that she was having a rotten day (I would say she was at or close to tears) and could I make sure that she didn't have to do anything hamster related when she got home.... she wasn't up to that. I agree to that, it wasn't a problem, the kids and I took care of it. I was thinking of offering more sympathy for her rotten day, but I also felt like telling her that it wasn't my problem. I managed to get over that, and pretty much just say, "sorry", and let it go.
So then a bit after 11, just when I was getting ready to turn out the light, S21 calls and asks me to come help him. A wheel came off his car! He was fine, the car needs some work. He had everything under control, but he wanted someone to vent to. And he needed a ride home once the car got to the shop. He's frustrated, this was on top of his second job folding (after a bouncing paycheck), and just a little more stress than he needed. The insurance company is taking good care of him, this morning they were sending him a rental. So he is feeling a lot better.
