I was just notified that I passed the civil service exam I took in June for School Business Manager and I have already received a canvas letter. The county personnel department sends these out to candidates that have qualified to find out their interest in open positions. These are only sent when the school district formally requests the list of qualified candidates.

Of course I am going to respond that I am interested. But I am not going to rely on the speed of the US Mail. Instead, I am going to return my form in person this afternoon.

It is no guarantee, because I am just 1 of the 5 people that are qualified for the position, but with any luck it could turn into a wonderful opportunity. I am cautiously optimistic, and trying not to get too excited yet.

I just couldn't wait to tell y'all.
