As far as Dan is concerned, I would not worry too much about him when it comes to deciding what to do. You should do whatever makes you feel good. I can not stress this enough .... forget about him for a while. Do whatever you want...whatever is best for you and the kids. I have a hunch he does not notice anyways. Maybe the Pastor would have gotten through to him but I can not remember if he ever had that talk....
i am excited to see a post fm you again sis. And then a good bit of that excitement was burst when I saw a miserable [censored] is doing.
You and the Lord nurse her back to health. Hope she's feeling better already.
I'll be praying that the head spinning stops and that He will provide you with the ability to discern exactly how to go about interacting with Dan when it becomes necessary to do so.
Thanks for the concern, friends! Not much time with Sydney being sick...
Put her to bed and she got back up about 45 minutes ago needing to pee, but that is a good thing since she hasn't been going to the bathroom! However she was shaking and I checked her and she was 103.8 degrees...
Dan said to check her again in a couple hours and if she isn't better, he will come in and either take her to ER or stay with Nathan while I go. My biggest concern is dehydration. Granted she has gone twice since 8 p.m., but she hadn't gone in 16 hours before that. And she only drank about 10 ounces today so I don't know how she even was able to go to the bathroom twice on that small amount. When she got up and was almost 104 her cheeks were really red. What worries me is that even with a high temp, she was not sweaty at all, very dry.
On the Dan front, he had an unexpected (allegedly) trip to Chicago pop up again. He has to go tomorrow night after work and gets back Wed. night.
Oh and every single time my daughter has seen him since he got back from Chicago, she has greeted him with "I want you to bring your jammies home." Actually, I am reminded of the scene in Steve Martin's "The Jerk" where he makes a list and it keeps growing (All I need is this remote control...and this ashtray...and this etc etc etc)
Because first she called him Saturday to say hi (her idea, it was a "mom" day), and as soon as he picked up she said, "I want you to bring your jammies to our house". Then yesterday he met us at church and she said, "I want you to bring your jammies and your toothbrush to our house Dad." He said, "Not right now honey..." Then last night he brought Nathan back from the county fair--Sydney stayed with his parents during that time b/c she was sick--and Sydney was home with me. She said, "I want you to bring your jammies and your toothbrush and toothpaste to our house"
Out of the mouths of babes...tonight she repeated the list from last night plus cowboy boots. He just said, "I know honey."
On an unrelated note the owner of the nursery I hired to put in a patio, do some re-grading/dirtwork, and put in a butterfly garden FINALLY came by with a worker to start going over the plans. I am so excited for them to start working! The plans were out on the table when Dan came to spend his time with the kids and he looked them over, I guess I never told him I was going forward with it! I told my friends and family but forgot him. So he looked at it all and couldn't believe I got them to do it for as little as they are charging. Plus getting it done by the owner himself. Surprise, surprise, I am capable after all...
Thanks, Sara. It went down overnight, it is now around 101. I am taking her to the dr. as soon as they open (in about 20 minutes) because she started vomiting around 3 a.m., so what little she drank came back up.
Yeah, I have tried to type her shortened name and it always comes up censored...
Called the dr. and they can't get her in until 10:30. She got up and I tried to get her to eat breakfast, made her favorite, and she just picked at it and ate literally like 1/2 a normal-sized bite. I told her she had to take 3 sips of water before she could get down. She did but cried and said her belly hurt. Poor baby. She was at a birthday party saturday and the county fair Sunday, so who knows what all she was exposed to.
