OK, here comes a little mind reading - is she concerned about her job situation b/c without it, D is much more difficult for her - no $$$$ of her own to rely upon. I know what this would mean for me. In her mind, maybe she's losing power to be able to control her own destiny as much as she could with a job.
No mind reading, here, IMO. To me, it would be mindreading if you said, "...she is concerned b/c," , etc. I hear you wondering, pondering, questioning. That's not mindreading.
