the kids are a gift from the Lord. I have yet to be gifted ..in that way. Larry King comes to mind ..for some strange reason ..lol. a rarity to mention him for any reason other that that one...shrivveled prune that he is.
Ok, this is a bit picky, but since the D bomb, W often calls me by my first name - never before the bomb.not very personable. Just a reminder where we are. Oh, well, its better than some other names I can think of.
No, no......do not lay down and take that. This is very important. You are her father and she needs to respect you and learn at this age to "show" that respect. Gently remind her that she is to call you "daddy" (or whatever name you prefer)but not your given name. I could talk for pages on how important that is, but I'll give you a break....lol. It does concerned me that you sound as if you just gave into this without trying to correct it. When you begin to feel that you are taking a beating in any form, that is when you need to straighten your backbone and go at it again. I know you guys probably get tired of me harping on the self-respect stuff, but DBing is never about losing your respect. It's not about laying down and allowing our S or our kids to show disrespect. There is a lot you can't control over your S, but you sure as heck can control how your children talk to you. Make a stand.
It is not about what you feel should work in your M. It is about doing the work that gets the right results. Do what works!
Maybe I wasn't clear, but it is my wife calling me by my first name not my daughter or son. I would NEVER stand for either of my children calling me by my first name. NOT EVER.
I know my concern with W calling me by my first name is just me feeling a bit sorry for me. Just needed to get it out.
W is going to her office today to decorate a co-worker's office for her birthday - for Monday. I am on the fence about suggesting D and I go with W to help her or not. Yout thoughts?

Hi,gima So are you saying that former "pet" names (hon, dear, etc.) have been dropped?

Why are you thinking about suggesting this (sounds a bit non DB for you, is all)?
